The Coca-Cola Company and National Recycling Coalition Support 85 Community Recycling Programs Through Bin Grant Program
Recycling programs in 85 towns and cities got a boost this America Recycles Day with the addition of new recycling bins. The two winners from New York State were the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services in Rochester and the Yonkers Green Policy Task Force.

NYSAR3's Annual Membership meeting and Workshop

October 16, Syracuse NY
This year NYSAR3 will held a successful one-day event on October 16 at the Genessee Grande Hotel in Syracuse. Two workshops were held - Grant Writing and Preparing A new Solid Waste Plan.

2008 Election Results

Thank you to all members who voted, and special thanks to the Board candidates: Robert Comi, Robert Lange, Mark Naef and Ted Osborne. Mark Naef and Ted Osborne were re-elected to the open At Large Board positions at the Annual Membership Meeting & Luncheon on October 16.

Free Recycling Equipment Grant

NYSAR3, through funding from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, is pleased to offer funds for either a rolling toter (up to $75) or have a worm composting kit delivered to your door, free-of-charge, to a limited number of schools. Hurry -- first-come, first-served. Schools must join the Go Green Initiative to be eligible. (Note: this is not to be confused with the $500 GGI Program Grant).

NYSAR3 Forms College Council
The College Council is a membership-based organization designed to provide a forum through which college students, environmental staff, and faculty can share information about common environmental problems and best practices that have been developed to overcome those problems.
