Download 2013 Recycler of the Year Application (pdf)

We all work with people who have labored tirelessly for recycling, composting, reuse and waste reduction initiatives in New York and deserve recognition.  We hope you will take the time to put someone’s achievements into words.

Nominations are sought from the public and private sectors; from business, industry, schools, colleges, government, nonprofits, civic or volunteer organizations, and individuals. There is no limit on the number of programs or individuals you may nominate.

If you want to nominate someone because you know he/she/they do a great job, but you don’t feel you know enough to complete the application, complete what you can.  The nominee does not have to be a NYSAR3 member; however, the application will be reviewed by the Recycler of the Year committee and NYSAR3 board members.

Recycler of the Year Awards include:

  • Lifetime Achievement (Significant contributions to waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting that need to be recognized – due to retirement, change of career, or other unique situation – or that are deserving of special attention and do not fall into one of the other categories.)
  • Citizen (An individual whose actions have significantly reduced solid waste or have furthered waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.)
  • Public Sector (Individual whose job related actions have significantly reduced solid waste or have furthered waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.)
  • Private Sector (An individual, a buyer of recycled products, supplier of recycling equipment/supplies or generator of recyclable materials, whose hard work, creative solutions or innovations have furthered waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.)
  • Team (A group [public or private sector] whose actions have significantly reduced solid waste or have furthered waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.)

The awards will be presented at the 24th Annual Recycling Conference & Trade Show on November 14, 2013 in Cooperstown.  We’ll see you there!

Thank you!
