Communications Associate
The Syracuse University Center for Sustainable Community Solutions is currently seeking a skilled and dynamic Communications Associate (Job #040216) to join our team. This full-time position, based in Syracuse, NY, offers a competitive pay range of $55,500 - $60,000, determined by a combination of factors reflecting the candidate's skills and experience.
The Communications Associate will assume a pivotal role in supporting both internal and external communications initiatives at the Center for Sustainable Community Solutions. Responsibilities encompass strategizing outreach, website development, crafting engaging marketing campaigns, and managing social media platforms. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in communications, exceptional writing skills, and a passion for creating compelling content. Proficiency in website content management systems (CMS), familiarity with social media platforms, and knowledge of digital marketing principles are essential. Strong organizational skills, media relations experience, and the ability to work effectively under pressure are also key qualifications.
The responsibilities of the Communications Associate span various areas, including:
Communications:
- Developing and executing external communication strategies to enhance the organization's reputation.
- Creating compelling content for press releases, articles, and other communication materials.
- Cultivating media relationships to secure positive coverage.
- Monitoring media trends in relevant areas of interest.
Marketing:
- Assisting in executing marketing campaigns.
- Creating marketing collateral, including brochures and presentations.
- Conducting market research and analyzing trends.
- Coordinating industry and community events and collaborating with external vendors.
Website Development:
- Collaborating on the organization's website(s).
- Ensuring website content aligns with branding.
- Conducting regular audits for improvements.
- Optimizing content for search engines and user experience.
- Monitoring analytics for performance tracking.
Social Media:
- Developing and implementing social media strategies.
- Creating engaging content for platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Managing social media channels and engaging with the audience.
- Analyzing metrics to measure campaign effectiveness.
Internal Communications:
- Developing strategies for internal communication.
- Coordinating and supporting event planning.
- Drafting and editing communications materials.
- Collaborating with different departments and teams to gather and share information.

Recycling Educator
Dutchess County is hiring a Recycling Educator to work in the Division of Solid Waste Management.
