National Recycling Coalition

The National Recycling Coalition is a national non-profit advocacy group; a professional membership organization. NRC members span all aspects of waste reduction, reuse and recycling (local recycling coordinators, state and federal regulators, corporate environmental managers, environmental educators, consumers and waste management professionals).

NRC is dedicated to the advancement and improvement of recycling, and also source reduction, composting and reuse by providing technical information, education, training, outreach and advocacy services to its members in order to conserve resources and benefit the environment.

 

The Federation of New York Solid Waste Associations

The Federation of New York Solid Waste Associations is an Alliance of three New York State Solid Waste Management Associations. NYSAR3 joined with the Solid Waste Association of North America New York State Chapter (SWANA) and the New York State Association for Solid Waste Management (NYSASWM) to form a united front for Solid Waste Professionals in New York.

 

New York Product Stewardship Council

The New York Product Stewardship Council works to implement the principles of product stewardship in New York State and nationally. These policies have many benefits:

  • Shift waste management costs off taxpayers and into the cost of the product
  • Reduced waste destined for landfills and waste to energy facilities
  • Improved product and packaging design for recycling and materials recovery
  • Economic development in new industries and job growth within New York State

With a network of nearly 1,000 affiliate and participating organizations, KAB forms public-private partnerships and programs that engage individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community's environment.

 

Cornell Waste Management Institute

CWMI serves the public through research, outreach, training, and technical assistance, with a focus on organic residuals. Many of CWMI's constituents are also members of NYSAR3. They also participate in the Organics Recycling and Compost Council.

 

Northeast Recycling Council

The Northeast Recycling Council, Inc. (NERC) is a multi-state non-profit organization that is committed to environmental and economic sustainability through responsible solid waste management. Its programs emphasize source reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, environmentally preferable purchasing (EPP), and decreasing the toxicity of the solid waste stream in the 10-state region comprised of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
