February 24, 2026 NYSAR³ and our supportive Legislators in Albany

Annually, NYSAR³ heads to Albany to promote our Legislative Priorities.  Members and Friends are invited to join us each year.  Keep an eye out on our website and our announcements in early January to join us!

NYSAR³’s Legislative Outreach & Engagement Day

2026 AGENDA: 

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM:   Arrival / Complimentary breakfast provided 

• Location:  Albany Renaissance Hotel,  144 State Street, Albany, NY 12207

10:00 AM – 10:45 AM: Advocacy Training (Albany Renaissance Hotel) 

• Provided by NYSAR³, using resources graciously shared by our friends at the NYS Association of Counties (NYSAC).

10:45 – 11:25 AM: Gather and walk, as a group, to the Capitol Concourse/Legislative Office Building, 198 State Street, Albany

•  Legislative Office Building (LOB) entrance is on State Street.; Go through security

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Press Conference with legislative partners in LCA (Legislative Correspondents Room) Room # 130 to support NYSAR³’s budget priorities*

12:00 PM – 3:30 PM: *Meetings with your legislators at Capitol Concourse (Lunch on your own)

To discuss some of NYSAR³’s 2026 top priorities:

• • Increased and/or dedicated funding for: 
    • Composting Infrastructure,
    • Reuse and Deconstruction Grants,
    • The Center for Sustainable Materials Management
  • Packaging & Paper Products EPR, including funding for municipal recycling
  • Bottle Bill expansion of redemption center funding and other improvements
  • Mattress EPR

3:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Group Debrief 

*Meetings will take place in small groups which will be assembled in advance, including matching constituents with their legislators where possible.
