About the NYSAR3 Textile Council
The NYSAR3 Textile Council brings together leaders from across New York’s textile recovery ecosystem to strengthen reuse, repair, and recycling statewide. The Council serves as a collaborative forum for collectors, sorters, charities, policymakers, researchers, and industry partners to share data, identify opportunities, and address systemic challenges in managing post-consumer textiles. Through regular meetings, the Council helps advance practical solutions that reduce waste, support secondhand markets, and build a more circular textile economy for New York communities. As the state’s textile landscape continues to evolve, the Council plays a key role in informing policy discussions, elevating best practices, and coordinating action across the value chain.
Mission
Our mission is to promote activities in NYS that advance textile circularity such as education, infrastructure investments and advocacy. Our shared goals are to change behavior while changing the systems that collect, reclaim or reuse, convert or reprocess and distribute textiles in NYS.
Vision
Our vision is for NYS to be a leader in textile waste reduction, reuse and recycling.
