Recycling Leadership Awards

We all know people who have labored tirelessly for recycling, composting, reuse and waste reduction initiatives in New York and deserve recognition. In addition, we are aware of innovative waste reduction projects and public education campaigns that should be held up as models of excellence. We hope you will take the time to put these achievements into words and complete this brief application.

Nominees do not have to be a NYSAR3 member. However, the applications will be reviewed by NYSAR3's Awards Committee. Not all categories may be awarded, and categories may also be changed at the discretion of the Awards Committee.

There is no limit on the number of programs or individuals you may nominate, but please only submit one application per individual or per project that you consider worthy of recognition.

Recycling Leadership Awards include:

  • Lifetime Achievement (An individual whose significant contributions to waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting that merit recognition onver the span of a career - or that are deserving of special attention and do not fall into one of the other categories.)
  • Citizen (An individual whose actions or creative solutions have significantly reduced solid waste or have furthered waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.)
  • Public Sector (Individual whose job related actions or creative solutions have furthered waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.)
  • Private Sector (Individual, team, or company, whose actions and creative solutions have furthered waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.)
  • Educational Institution (College, University, local school, or other educational institution whose actions have significantly reduced solid waste or have furthered waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.)
  • Innovation Awards (An innovative project or public education campaign that has resulted in significant waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and/or composting)

The awards will be presented at the 30th Annual Recycling Conference & Trade Show on November 6, 2019 in Cooperstown.  We'll see you there!
